Conversations with a Two Year Old: Daddy I Don't Believe You

Yesterday on the way to school, James and I had a short conversation that really struck me as funny, even though he was stating that he didn't believe me.

James: Daddy, look there's a house.

Daddy: No, that's a church.

James: Oh! (James' new favorite word) That's a church.

Daddy: James, would you like to go to church?

James: Yes.

A few minutes pass and Daddy hears James talking to himself quietly. He is repeating the previous conversation, but adds something to the ending.

James: Daddy, look there's a house. Daddy says No! That's a church. Oh! That's a church. Ask my teacher.

Sure enough, when we arrived at school James asked his teacher, Miss Tina for a second opinion! (She had to defer to Daddy because she didn't see the church in question.)
