James' First "Date"

On Saturday, James went on his first "date", and with an "older" woman at that.  James's friend Morgan, age 4, and her parents came to visit us this past weekend and James took Morgan to see Nickelodeon StoryTime Live. Morgan's dad Patrick, however, insisted on the two going dutch as both sets of parents chaperoned the kids. The two had a wonderful time nevertheless. Here is how James and Morgan's "date" went:

On Saturday morning, James met Morgan at Butler's Orchard in Germantown, MD.  After Morgan showed James how to pick berries, the two spent the morning picking black raspberries, strawberries and blueberries.  James and Morgan each had their own container to fill, although they ended up filling a single container between the them. Morgan insisted on James following her and staying near her as she "needed" help in filling her container.

After picking berries, James and Morgan had a picnic lunch at the South Germantown Recreational Park.  The two played for about 45 minutes together in the castle, pirate ship and on the swings before heading on to Nickelodeon StoryTime Live.

It was at the Nickelodeon StoryTime Live that we were treated to some very funny moments between Morgan and James. The two held hands walking from the car, through the theater lobby and all the way to their seats in the theater. Morgan literally dragged James everywhere she went.  James just smiled cheerfully the whole time, happy to follow Morgan wherever she went.  He greatly enjoyed the time he got to spend with his old friend.

After the show, James treated Morgan to pizza at his house and the two watch the Bee Movie before calling it a night.  James was even gentleman enough to give up his room so that Morgan and her parents could have a restful night's sleep.  All in all it was a great day.  Pictures will be posted soon.
