Conversations with a Two Year Old: Silly Sally

While eating dinner earlier today, James decided he had had enough to eat and started putting his broccoli in his milk.  Below is the conversation that followed.

Mommy: James, you're silly.
James: Plus Daddy.
Mommy: Plus Daddy?  Plus Daddy what?
James: Sally
Mommy: Sally!?
James: Sally plus Daddy.
Mommy: Sally plus Daddy!?
James: (smiling and laughing) Yes.
Mommy: Who's Sally?
James: (no answer, but continues to smile and laugh)
Mommy: (turning to Daddy and humorously going along with the conversation) Daddy, WHO'S SALLY?
Daddy: (dumbfounded and stuttering because he is trying to stifle laughing) I have no idea.
Daddy: (turning to James) James are you trying to get Daddy in trouble.
James: (no answer, but continues to smile and laugh)
Daddy: (pleads with Mommy trying to convince her that he really has no idea who Sally is)
James: (still smiling and laughing) Daddy, you're silly.
Daddy: Oh! You mean silly plus Daddy, not Sally plus Daddy.
James: Yes.
