Conversations with a Two Year Old: Sunday Afternoon Drive and Nap

James went to the doctor on Thursday and the doctor said James has an ear infection and a cold.  The doctor prescribed an antibiotic for James' ear infection. James' cold has been characterized by a lot of congestion. Since his doctor visit, James' congestion seems to have gotten worse and we may have to give him a breathing treatment.  All of this has made it difficult for James to sleep well.  His nap earlier today only lasted about 30 minutes.  Mommy and Daddy decided to go for a drive and see if a nice Sunday afternoon drive would put James to sleep. Mommy and Daddy did not succeed, but James' conversation regarding the Sunday afternoon ride was hilarious.

As we pulled out of the parking spot to go for our Sunday afternoon drive James told us he wanted to "Go home." After an hour of driving and James not falling asleep, we returned home.  As we pulled into the parking spot at our apartment, James said, "I want to go for a ride."  He paused and then said, "I'm ready for a nap."
